Engineering Apprentices

Vacancy Open

We have a strong history of employing young engineers into our advanced apprenticeship scheme.

In conjunction with Blackpool & the Fylde College we run schemes that enable apprentices to gain qualifications, either a BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a BTEC Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, in addition to an NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship, and all whilst earning and gaining valuable work experience.

Our apprentices gain practical hands-on experience initially through departmental placements in design, manufacturing, moulding and assembly, before specializing in an area where they will receive more in depth training and experience.

The apprenticeship is broken into three years of training, which consist of the following

  • Year 1

A series of departmental placements covering areas such as; design, manufacture (CNC Machining, EDM Machining), assembly and mould testing. Apprentices also benefit from day-leave at B&FC studying towards their BTEC diplomas.

  • Year 2

Fixed place learning within a chosen department, continuing day-leave now working towards a level 3 NVQ.

  • Year 3

Progression in your chosen disipline now working full time on site, with college mentor visits to record your workplace learning and complete the apprenticeship.

Applicants must have GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade 4 and above) and should be able to demonstrate an interest in engineering.

Our apprenticeship is full time (39 hours per week), this includes paid day leave for college attendance and offers a competitive salary.
