Technician

Our Technician role is suitable for skilled machinists and experienced engineers who are detail oriented to be able to operate surface and universal grinding machines, assemble mould components including; mould frames and hot runner systems. The role is responsible for the manufacture of small batch precision tolerance mould components, building and testing new and repeat mould tools. Ideally candidates will have experience working within an engineering environment constructing engines or other mechanical system, have an interest in how things work, be able to interpret drawings and perform inspection techniques, however full training will be provided.
Our Technician role is full time (39 hours per week) and offers a competitive salary of up to £ per hour.
Mouldshop Engineer

Our Mouldshop role is suitable for experienced engineers and problem solvers, able to identify root cause and provide solutions. The role is responsible for maintaining injection moulding machines, developing mould processes and providing quality assurance. The role requires a scientific approach, performing a range of tests to optimise the moulding process, and is also ustomer facing, requiring good communication skills. An ideal candidate will have experience working within an engineering environment prefferably within injection moulding and have knowledge of plastic injection moulding machines, however full training will be provided.

Quality Engineer & System Co-Ordinator

Our Quality Engineer & System Co-Ordinator role is suitable to detail oriented individuals with good communication skills and a passion for driving success. The role is responsible for helping to maintain the businesses quality management system to ISO 9001:2015, this includes; performing audits, maintaining critical documentation and databases as well as reviewing, maintaining and offering improvements to quality processes. The role will require good communication skills to confidently deal with key stakeholders such as; senior management, production teams, customers and external consultants. In addition the role will be responsible for operating measurement machines to inspect plastic samples and create Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIRs), working in collaberation with other quality teams to provide quality assurance across departments. An ideal candidate will have an inquisative nature with an eye for detail to be able to identify root cause, they will have experience working to ISO 9001:2015 and be capable of operating Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a good level.

Engineering Apprentices

We have a strong history of employing young engineers into our advanced apprenticeship scheme.
In conjunction with Blackpool & the Fylde College we run schemes that enable apprentices to gain qualifications, either a BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a BTEC Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, in addition to an NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship, and all whilst earning and gaining valuable work experience.
Our apprentices gain practical hands-on experience initially through departmental placements in design, manufacturing, moulding and assembly, before specializing in an area where they will receive more in depth training and experience.
The apprenticeship is broken into three years of training, which consist of the following
- Year 1
A series of departmental placements covering areas such as; design, manufacture (CNC Machining, EDM Machining), assembly and mould testing. Apprentices also benefit from day-leave at B&FC studying towards their BTEC diplomas.
- Year 2
Fixed place learning within a chosen department, continuing day-leave now working towards a level 3 NVQ.
- Year 3
Progression in your chosen disipline now working full time on site, with college mentor visits to record your workplace learning and complete the apprenticeship.
Applicants must have GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade 4 and above) and should be able to demonstrate an interest in engineering.
